Our Take on Taikoo Li's New Kiehl's Café
By Sam Lee
Kiehl’s recently opened up a cafe within their shop in – you guessed it – Taikoo Li. Thus, we set out to find an answer to the question you’ve long been asking: Do skincare experts really make good coffee?
THE BRAND
Kiehl’s is a luxury skincare range made to look like a neon-lit apothecary for millennials.
THE MENU
Small. A short list of coffees and juices, plus a counter full of cakes by Beijing-based bakery Haollee.
THE VIBE
Like that of a tiny cosmetics shop. There are far more hand creams and lotions than there are cakes and coffees – or seats for would-be diners, for that matter.
THE STANDOUT
The quinoa, yes quinoa, cheesecake (RMB48).
THE SCORE
Two out of five 600-kuai hydrating facial creams.
